PLD MR Transponderisation – Mercedes-Benz MP1, MP2, MP3 Key & Immobiliser Programming
PLD MR Transponderisation is the process of programming a transponder ID (key chip) into the PLD/MR module so the ECU recognises the authorised key and allows the engine to start. This service is essential when replacing a PLD/MR unit, fitting a reconditioned module, or resolving issues caused by lost, damaged or mismatched keys.

PLD MR Transponderisation Overview
Transponderisation allows a PLD/MR module to synchronise with a specific immobiliser key. If the transponder ID stored in the module does not match the key, the vehicle may crank but will not start. In replacement or second-hand units, the immobiliser data often differs, making transponderisation essential.

What Our PLD MR Transponderisation Service Includes
1️⃣ Reading and Programming the Transponder ID
We extract immobiliser data from the PLD MR module and correctly encode the transponder ID into the ECU. This ensures:

2️⃣ Verification and Start Authorisation Testing
We simulate the key-to-module communication to confirm the immobiliser authorisation is successful.
3️⃣ Optional Blank Key Supply

A locksmith must cut the blade to match your mechanical lock.
4️⃣ System Preparation for Machines & Buses
Where immobilisation is required for Bell, Marcopolo or specialised machinery, we prepare the module so software immobiliser changes can be applied from the Software Modification service.
5️⃣ Safe Bench Procedure
All work is carried out on professional-grade equipment to avoid data corruption and ensure stable immobiliser operation.

Misfire & Major Repairs
Transponderisation does not include electronic repairs.
If during programming we detect:

Power supply damage

Injector driver faults

Burnt circuits
…you will be quoted separately, or the repair may be upgraded to a Major Repair.
Immobiliser Removal for Mercedes Trucks
For Actros/Axor/Atego MP1–MP3, immobiliser removal requires software changes in the FR or CPC/FR module.
This is not part of the transponderisation fee and must be performed together with the correct software modification process.
Machine & Bus Immobilisation
We can lock a PLD MR module to a specific machine/bus. This requires additional software configuration and is handled through our Software Modification service.
Blank Keys
Blank keys cost R500. Cutting must be performed locally by a locksmith.
